7 Amazing Project Code Names that you need to know about!

There is a lot of advice on how to name projects these days, as well as codename generators that are entertaining to use when starting a project. But we thought a look at the best code names of all time would be very enlightening. Of course, this is a subjective list, but these fantastic project names are worth mentioning:

  1. Titan

Apple has been tight-lipped, but Insiders claim that the corporation is working on an automobile called "Titan" that will be ready for the road in 2019. With a monstrous name like that, speculation is already rife about the features that may or may not compete with Google's self-driving cars.

  1. Project Hanks

When Verizon Communications was attempting to buy AOL earlier this year, they needed to keep the deal a secret, so they came up with a code name. The name they chose, according to the Telegraph, is Project Hanks, which may not make sense unless you remember that Tom Hanks appeared in the romantic comedy You've Got Mail (1998), which is about a relationship established around AOL's famed mail notification system.

  1. Kodiak

Apple developed the first version of Mac OS X using the codename Kodiak in 2000, unlike some other firms that have a codename and then change it to something else when it goes to market. It's subsequently expanded on that theme with upgrades featuring Puma, Jaguar, Panther, Leopard, Snow Leopard, and Lion, among other formidable wild animals.

  1. Code Talkers

The secret WWII initiative to enlist Cherokee, Creek, Choctaw, and other tribal individuals to transmit coded signals in Native American languages was known as this project. Windtalkers, a Nicholas Cage film classic popularised it as well.

  1. Project Blue Book

You probably don't have the clearance if you don't already know. But, for the sake of transparency... The US Air Force's research of UFO encounters was code-named Project Blue Book. You didn't hear it from us, though.

  1. X Lab

It's true that Google was formerly known for its unofficial slogan "Don't be evil," but it doesn't mean they don't have a secret hideaway. Projects like the Self-Driving Car and Google Glass are developed under the cloak and veil secrecy demanded of the company's uber-mysterious moniker at the company's secret "X" Lab.

  1. Project 404

During the Vietnam War, the secret name for a covert US Air Force mission to Laos was to provide line crew technicians. It's now the code name for a webpage that no longer exists. Coincidence?
